This Pink October, we are sharing Dr Melissa Lim’s personal experience to remind every woman that taking care of our health should never be an afterthought.
At 41, Dr Melissa has done her second mammogram and breast ultrasound. Thankfully, her results were normal. ❤️
However, not every woman receives the same news.
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in Malaysia. Too often, fear, misconceptions, and busy schedules cause women to delay screening until symptoms appear.
But breast cancer doesn’t always cause pain, and the absence of symptoms does not necessarily mean everything is fine.
💕 Ladies, please take charge of your breast health.
✨ Know your risk factors and be familiar with your breasts.
✨ Consult your healthcare provider about the appropriate screening for your age and risk level.
✨ Don’t wait until you discover a lump or experience symptoms before seeking medical advice.
Early detection can make a significant difference in treatment outcomes and survival.

🩷 SBCSG AT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH CELEBRATION 2026 🩷
On 25 October 2026, the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG) was honoured to be invited to attend the Sambutan Bulan Kesedaran Kanser Payudara Peringkat Negeri Sarawak 2026, held at Padang Merdeka, Kuching.
Organised by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Sarawak in collaboration with Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and the Sarawak Pink Ribbon Association, the event brought the community together to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote the importance of early detection. 💗
SBCSG is grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event. We also appreciate receiving the mammogram test subsidy, which will help support access to breast cancer screening and encourage early detection.
Together, let us continue to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and remind every woman that she is never alone in her journey. 🩷

What an exciting and memorable experience for the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG) at the 12th Edition Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta 2026, held from 23–25 October 2026 in Kuching! 🚣♀️🌊
Our members came together to embrace the spirit of teamwork, courage and togetherness, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of this exciting sporting event. Beyond the paddling, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share laughter and create meaningful memories together. 💕
At SBCSG, we believe that life beyond a cancer diagnosis can be filled with strength, joy and new experiences. Every moment spent together reminds us that we are stronger when we stand together. 🩷

🩷 EMART TABUAN JAYA PINK OCTOBER 2026: A MEANINGFUL DAY OF AWARENESS & COMMUNITY! 🩷
On 18 October 2026, Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG) was honoured to be part of the Pink October Cancer Awareness Campaign organised by Emart Tabuan Jaya at the Main Atrium, Emart Tabuan Jaya.
The event was graced by YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, alongside distinguished guests and community representatives.
The programme featured an official opening ceremony, a sharing session titled “Empowering Women’s Health”, and a cancer awareness exhibition. These activities provided a valuable platform to raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations about women’s health, and highlight the importance of cancer awareness and early detection.
SBCSG extends its heartfelt appreciation to Emart Tabuan Jaya for organising this meaningful initiative and providing an opportunity for the community to come together in support of cancer awareness.
